soi ho soi についてAbout

This is somewhere west part of Kamakura.
At the foot of Kamakura-yama.

The morning at “soi ho soi” begins with the sounds of singing birds.
The cauldron is fired up.
The wooden steamer is placed on it.
And in the steamy air, we stretch pure white hand-woven cloth on the dyeing board.
Here our craft starts.

With wood, by hand, with embroidery needles,
We dye over and over, stitch, and draw.

We spend a long time on our pieces, and they have the power to express their own stories.

The stories we hope to tell are not something special nor a fairy tale.

When you feel a little bit lazy, something makes you bright by wearing.
When you put the soft silk around your neck and it touches your cheek,
it might remind your childhood or mother’s gentle hands.
It would be appreciated if we could support you to create your story in the everyday life by our crafts.

We put our crafts in the air of Kamakura.
The natural light and wind are honest and tell the truth.

We hope you would enjoy each story, feeling the air of Kamakura.
